This vintage 1970s lithograph print depicts a beautiful botanical illustration of November fruits, a botanical illustration created in the 1730s as part of ’12 Months of Fruit’ artwork by Robert Furber, a Kensington, London, gardener/nurseryman. The original engraving was created by Ian Smith and showcases the fruits of April in a portrait orientation on paper. Depicting the fruit ripening in each month, Furber’s fruit prints were a follow-up to his ground-breaking, hugely successful flower seed catalog, ‘Twelve Months of Flowers’ which feature detailed illustrations of grand flower arrangements in neoclassical urns grouped by the months in which they bloomed. Original sets of both '12 Months of Fruit' and '12 Months of Flowers' are on display at Colonial Williamsburg.
